Building a Basic Affiliate Marketing Plan - Step #3 website is when the fun starts! Here are the basic steps to planning your affiliate marketing website:

  1. Find your best keywords
  2. Help people by writing great information
  3. Begin building your website

The Best Keywords for your Basic Affiliate Marketing Plan

The best keywords have a lot of people searching for them (we call this "demand") and a low number of other websites using the keywords (this is called "supply")

So your task is to find the high-demand keywords with low supply. How I do that?

There are two ways to find the best keywords:

  1. You can guess (bad idea!)
  2. You can use software to find out the real winning keywords (good idea)

As you know, guessing is a surefire way to destroy a business. Don't guess - you need to find out what will work.

Every affiliate marketer and successful website owner knows that keywords are extremely valuable and are worth their weight in gold. That's why the smart affiliate marketers (like you and me!) PAY for our keywords.

There are 3 killer keyword tools available and I've used them all... They are:

  1. Keyword Discovery
  2. Wordtracker
  3. SBI Brainstormer

You've got 3 ways to build your website:

  1. Pay a designer / programmer to do it
  2. Go to school and learn how to write HTML code yourself
  3. Use software to build it for you

My guess is you don't want to pay a designer $150 an hour to build your website.

You're probably not going to school for website design either...

Is that fair to say?

In that case, I'm going to skip #1 and #2. We'll focus on the cheapest and fastest option: Using software to build your basic affiliate marketing website.

Most website hosting companies like 1&1 and GoDaddy come with software to build a very basic website:

  1. 1&1 will cost you $3.99 (US) per month
  2. GoDaddy is $4.29 (US) per month

They're cheap and they'd be ok for you to get started, but they only let you have a small number of pages (about 8). Then, you'll have to upgrade and pay more money per month. So watch out for "hidden" costs if you're using 1&1 or GoDaddy.
